webcomics, money and moving

I used to read webcomics religiously but I haven't been able to devote the time they are deserved in some time. I check up on them occasionly now. Partially because this past year my availability of the internet has been a series of ups and downs but moreover due to the fact that I'm horrible at doing anything consistently, including checking a webpage for updated comics. Regardless, I thought I would share some of my favs...

Chris Yates's Reprographics
If you read carefully you'll notice that I'm in this comic;
Chris also makes amazing jigsaw puzzles and one-offs that you can purchase from here

Oscar Wilde Jigsaw Puzzle:

Diesel Sweeties [a pixelated robot romance comic] http://www.dieselsweeties.com/

Dinosaur comics http://www.qwantz.com/

and Asofterworld which I do still read on the regular http://www.asofterworld.com/

Updating from my last blog I texted Justin Gonazalez last night:
Me: Should I stop by this friday to get a check?
Justin: You can stop by anytime..Sorry, I have been really busy
Me: Thanks. Btw off the record I don't do heroin. Never have. Never will,
Justin: Lol. Wtf
Me: I heard a rumor that was going around the rivington. I dunno but it's not true either way. Whatevs.
Justin: Lol. That is news to me
Me: It was to me too. Went and got a check today but I think the money's wrong and I don't believe him. Additionally, I realize that it's a text message but adding a simple punctuation mark is not that difficult.

As far as moving goes...I'm leaving BK for Astoria for a couple months then to Elmhurst with the rents. So I'll be sleeping on couches or borrowing cabfare.

If there are any attractive single males living in the East Village, LES, Gramercy, Murray Hill and surrounding neighborhoods that need a live in girlfriend let me know...

music vs. / + shoes

Two things people want and spend shitloads of money on. Shoes, shoes, shoes and music, music music.

Why not combine the two? Plus they're ups.

If AF1's arent you're style or if you're European/white person really into running; there's a shoe for you too:

If you don't have the money for some music shoes, you can always pretend:

Here's Common's music video for "Be" aka a Jordan commercial:

ben woodward

Today, I read an interview with Philly based artist Ben Woodward on fecalface and a few things he said made me 1. Think of Frog and 2. Result in me enjoying his work more

Things he said that reminded me of Frog:
When asked,

What do love most about living in Philly?

Phila is the best, not only is it cheap enough to own a house, but the people that I live and work around are always inspirational.

What are you really excited about right now?

The Wire.

Things that made me enjoy his work more:
When asked,

If you had to explain your work to a stranger, how would you do it?

It's surrealism for people that were taught to read by muppets.

What emotion translates best for you?

Sleepy and reluctant acceptance. Like the sigh you let out be for you have to clean dog poop off the carpet.

Plus, the fact that Free News Projects is publishing an illustrated children's book by Woodward entitled "Sullivan's Solo" about a bunch of birds that save their friend with poop. Any children's book having to do with poop is always worthwhile.

ex.

So anyway here are some pieces that I really liked:

You can see more by him at www.space1026.com

If you're in LA go to the Carmichael Gallery for Contemporary Art, where Woodward is having his first solo westcoast show entitled Beep boop Beep boop. It runs from March 8th to March 30th.

p.s. He's got an asian wife.
